Warriors receive bad injury news on Stephen Curry ahead of Game 2

The Golden State Warriors have an incredibly difficult task ahead of them entering Game 2 versus the Minnesota Timberwolves.

After the Warriors pulled off a stunning road victory in Game 1, Anthony Edwards and the Wolves will be playing with desperation on Thursday night to avoid going down 0-2 heading back to Golden State.

Speaking of desperation, Warriors fans let out a collective sigh on Wednesday afternoon as ESPN's Shams Charania provided an update on Stephen Curry's hamstring injury.

"Golden State's Stephen Curry has sustained a Grade 1 left hamstring strain and will be ruled out for Game 2 against Minnesota on Thursday, sources tell ESPN," Charania posted to X.

"It's the first strained muscle of Curry's career, so exact return timetable is unclear due to first rehab like this."

It's not just Curry's status for Game 2 that scares Warriors fans; it's that his return timetable is up in the air.

Would Golden State be able to survive this second-round series if Curry missed most or all of it? That's doubtful.

Jimmy Butler will have to step up big-time, and the Warriors will need at least one other role player (Jonathan Kuminga? Brandin Podziemski?) to play out of their mind while Curry recovers.

A tough break for Golden State after a momentous Game 1 win.
