Warriors predicted to reunite with Kevin Durant via blockbuster trade with Suns

The Golden State Warriors must attempt to lighten Stephen Curry’s workload this season.

Reuniting with a dynamic Phoenix Suns scorer would likely do the trick.

“Kevin Durant fits the Warriors’ championship-or-bust mentality perfectly,”
Fadeaway World’s Eddie Bitar wrote Thursday.

“We floated this dream scenario earlier this week and even if it is unlikely, it doesn't make it any less interesting for Warriors fans around the world.”

“What better way for Durant to put a stamp on his legacy than delivering a third title for the Warriors?”

“Pairing him with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green creates a trio of high-IQ, battle-tested veterans capable of thriving in the postseason's pressure cooker.”

“Durant is not winning with the Suns this season, and he might be looking for a new challenge.”

“The question is, can the Warriors pull off a deal of this magnitude? Probably not because they don't want to mortgage their future if it means going all-in with heavy risk.”

In Bitar’s blockbuster trade proposal, the Warriors would send Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Buddy Hield, Kevon Looney, Linda Walters III, a 2025 first-round pick, and a 2029 first-round pick to the Suns for Durant.

When Durant took his talents to Golden State in 2016, he was expected to elevate the franchise to new heights following a devastating end to the 2015-16 campaign.

Unsurprisingly, the 14-time All-Star rose to the occasion and utilized his remarkable three-level scoring ability to guide the Warriors to two championships in three seasons.

While Durant is still an unbelievable offensive weapon at age 36, he isn’t on track to win a title with the underachieving Suns in June.

A reunion with the Warriors, who also have problems, would allow the four-time scoring champion to reset and return to a franchise that helped bolster his resume.

A groundbreaking trade involving the Warriors, Suns, and Durant could soon be in the works.
