The biggest question the Golden State Warriors are facing is what to do with LeBron James.
There's certainly an expectation that James will at least be of interest to Golden State, with all reports suggesting so. However, there's also a Draymond Green question that hasn't been answered, something that will need to be figured out over the next few weeks to months.
Any time Green isn't signed, it will continue to raise that question, as the Warriors don't seem too worried about losing him, but rather have to question how much money he could be looking for.
One Sports Illustrated writer recently predicted that he'd take a two-year, $34 million deal, which would be an ideal scenario for the Warriors to stay under the first apron.
“The Warriors will give Green as much as they can while staying below the $209 million first apron. A two-year, $34 million deal with a player option in the second season would work,” Joey Akeley wrote.
The apron situations around the NBA can be very confusing, but the important part here is that it would be wise for the Warriors to stay under the first apron to give themselves some flexibility. I'm unsure if Green is willing to take a pay cut of that magnitude, but at this stage of his career, it shouldn't be counted out.
