The Golden State Warriors waited months to make a single transaction this free agency.
Now, after officially acquiring Al Horford and bringing back Jonathan Kuminga, they continuously make shifts to finalize their roster.
On Wednesday, the Warriors cut ties with a guard they signed in late September, who just so happened to be born and raised in Ohio, much like Stephen Curry.
“The Golden State Warriors have waived center Marques Bolden and guard Taevion Kinsey,” the Warriors PR team posted Wednesday.
Kinsey was looking to log his first-ever minutes in an NBA game after he appeared in 13 minutes across three preseason games.
In those minutes, Kinsey posted two rebounds and one assist.

Kinsey was brought to the team for his high-flying ability, which he showcased with the Salt Lake City Stars, the Utah Jazz’s G League team.
In two years with the Stars, Kinsey averaged 12 points per game and shot 42% from beyond the arc.
He was also the runner-up in the 2024 G League Dunk Contest.
His spot in the NBA was earned during his college career at Marshall, where he quickly became the university's all-time leading scorer.
After spending five years there, he averaged 17.1 points per game over those years, with a season best of 22.1 points per game in his fifth year.
Kinsey will likely get a chance to compete with the Warriors' G League roster and earn himself his next chance to play in the NBA.
