In Arizona, the high school football regular season has hit the stretch run.

One player who turned in a strong performance in the regular season's back end was Ezekiel Estep, a senior linebacker for Mesa.

Estep was the Jackrabbits' top tackler with 11, including six solo stops, and also intercepted a pass as Mesa posted a 23-14 win against Salpointe Catholic on October 3. That win broke a stretch in which the Jackrabbits had dropped three of their previous four ballgames.

For his efforts, Estep was voted as The Sporting News Arizona Player of the Week, honoring the top performers from Week 6.

Later on this week, voters can nominate who should be The Sporting News Arizona Player of the Week for Week 7.

A senior receiver and Minnesota commit, Blassingame accounted for all three of the Wolverines’ TDs in a 21-7 win against Raymond S. Kellis. He ended up with seven receptions for 114 yards.

D’Mari Bryant, Goodyear Millennium

Bryant, a junior tailback, rushed for 140 yards on 25 carries and scored two TDs in his team’s win against Verrado.

D’Anthony Bush, Kingman

A senior quarterback, Bush passed for 77 yards and a TD and also ran for 110 yards on 21 carries and a score in the Bulldogs’ 21-13 win against The Odyssey Institute.

Noah Chanez, Tucson High

A senior tailback, Chanez rushed for 263 yards on 36 carries and scored five TDs and ended up with 411 all-purpose yards in the Badgers’ 48-33 win against Casa Grande. He had a kickoff return for a TD as well.

Paul Delgado, Walden Grove

In the Red Wolves’ 25-15 win against Sahuaro, Delgado - a junior linebacker - recorded 10 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, an interception that he returned 68 yards for a TD and two pass deflections.

Kody Dodson, Chandler Prep

Dodson, a junior quarterback, was 8-of-10 passing for 188 yards and four TDs as well as a rushing TD and even a punt return for another score in his team’s 64-0 win against Lincoln Prep.

Chase Dugan, Camp Verde

A junior, Dugan finished with five tackles, four for loss, three sacks, a pass deflection and a fumble return for a TD in the Cowboys’ 55-20 win against Holbrook.

Estep, a senior linebacker, was the team’s top tackler with 11, including six solo stops, and also intercepted a pass in the Jackrabbits’ 23-14 win against Salpointe Catholic.

Kylin Jackson, Bradshaw Mountain

Jackson, a senior tailback, rushed for 205 yards and three TDs, setting a new school record for career rushing TDs, in the Bears’ 49-6 win against Flagstaff. He now has 34 career rushing scores.

Nathan Johannes, Phoenix Northwest Christian

A senior, Johannes rushed for 250 yards on 22 carries and two TDs and also caught six passes for 162 yards and four more scores in his team’s 63-34 win against Phoenix Thunderbird.

Dawson Judd, Benson

Judd, a senior quarterback, completed 18-of-28 passes for 212 yards and three TDs while adding 109 yards on 10 carries with another score as the Bobcats rallied in the fourth quarter to down Santa Cruz Valley, 28-26.

Jacob LaDuke, Snowflake

LaDuke, a junior signal-caller, was 9-of-14 passing for 239 yards and four TDs along with a rushing TD as the Lobos moved to 7-0 after a 41-0 defeat of Poston Butte.

Colten Meyer, Marana

Meyer, a quarterback, completed 19-of-24 passes for 284 yards and three TDs and added a rushing score in the Tigers’ 49-0 win against Ironwood Ridge.

Race Pinneo, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy

Pinneo, a junior quarterback, completed 15-of-23 passes for 145 yards and three TDs to lift the Lions past Sabino, 21-8.

Austin Schuder, Valley Christian

Schuder, a junior quarterback, completed 19-of-25 passes for 250 yards and three TDs as well as running for 166 yards on 12 carries and three more scores in a 48-38 win against Seton Catholic.

Jax Sculley, Hamilton

Just a sophomore, Sculley threw for 339 yards and six TDs on 13-of-17 pass attempts in a 54-0 win against Valley Vista.

Zach Smith, Arcadia

A senior quarterback, Smith accounted for four total TDs in the Titans’ 37-0 win against Combs, which had previously not allowed a single point going into the game. One of his TDs was a 95-yard pass.

Jayden Simmons, Tucson Flowing Wells

Simmons, a senior tailback, rushed for 132 yards on 16 carries and found the end zone three times as the Caballeros improved to 6-0 after a 42-0 win against Nogales.

Dontay Tyson, Peoria

A junior receiver, Tyson hauled in nine passes for 106 yards and two TDs as Peoria edged St. Mary’s, 36-35, in overtime.

Miles Woods, Maryvale

Woods, a junior receiver/defensive back, had two TD receptions, two interceptions and accumulated 190 yards in kick return yards in Maryvale’s 39-26 win against North Canyon.
