Von Miller isn't quite ready to hang up his cleats.

The veteran pass rusher announced on his Instagram on Wednesday that he will be signing with the Commanders for the 2025 season.

Miller joins a vaunted Washington defense that is already headlined by linebacker Bobby Wagner. Now, two of the best defenders of the last generation find themselves in their swan songs with the Commanders. Miller spent the 2024 season with the Bills, playing in 13 games. He finished with 17 total tackles, including six sacks. It was his third-highest season sack total since 2019.

Von Miller contract details

Miller announced on his personal Instagram that he will be joining the Commanders. It was confirmed by ESPN's Adam Schefter, who stated that the deal will be for just one year, but that the two sides are still negotiating the final terms.

In an era of analytics where teams are constantly trying to get younger, Washington is going a different route. The Commanders already had the league's oldest roster, with players averaging nearly 28 years of age. Washington now adds the 36-year-old Miller, who will look not only to keep adding to his career stats, but also mentor linemen Dorance Armstrong, Daron Payne, Javon Kinlaw, and Deatrich Wise Jr.
