Today the vivo X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max went global, over a month after they debuted in China. But the company is apparently already busy with the next member of the family. Now, prolific tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed on Weibo that a "small s iteration" is in testing.
According to DCS, the engineering sample has a 6.85-inch flat screen with 2K+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and equal-width bezels on all four sides. The tipster also says the device follows a "large-screen all-rounder" approach. He didn't name it, but people in the comments have taken it to mean the vivo X500s, and that does seem like the most likely candidate.
vivo X300s
If that's right, the X500s would get a slightly bigger and sharper display than the vivo X300s, which launched back in March with a 6.78-inch 1260x2800 LTPO AMOLED screen and a 144Hz refresh rate. The size, resolution, and refresh rate also match the X500 Pro Max, so vivo might be bringing its latest flagship's screen to another model.
The X300s was announced alongside the X300 Ultra, so the X500s could arrive together with the X500 Ultra, which is rumored to launch in China between March and April. Interestingly, the Ultra reportedly has a 6.85-inch flat 2K 144Hz screen too. Unfortunately, nothing else is known about the X500s yet, so we'll have to wait a while for details on its chipset, cameras, and battery.
