Former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was the mastermind behind several non-PG storylines during his time as the head booker of the main roster. However, a female legend recently revealed that McMahon was displeased with her following a controversial sequence at WrestleMania. The spot is still widely remembered as one of the wildest moments in the history of women's wrestling.

Mickie James is the legend in question. Recently, speaking to Chris Van Vliet on his INSIGHT podcast, James discussed an infamous sequence during her title match against Trish Stratus at WrestleMania 22, where she won the Women's Title.

The bout is mainly remembered for a non-PG spot where Mickie James made a licking gesture toward Stratus on live television. While the crowd erupted, James didn't get the reaction she was expecting backstage from Vince McMahon. The legend revealed that the veteran promoter was furious and called the sequence "Crass."

McMahon told the former Women's Champion that it would cost the company a lot of money to edit the sequence out.

"It’s not what happened at all. Go back through the curtain, and Vince is p**sed. He’s like, ‘That was crass! Do you know what we’re gonna have to do? How much money it’s gonna cost to edit that and to pull it from everything? We’re a publicly traded company! What are you thinking?'" James said. (H/T: chrisvanvliet.com)

Vince McMahon didn't like the WWE icon's OG ring name

Before debuting on the main roster, James had a run in the company's then-developmental territory, OVW. She was known as Alexis Laree in Ohio Valley Wrestling.

During the same interview, James revealed that Vince McMahon wanted to change her ring name. Eventually, she suggested her real name, which got approved. The WWE icon added that stars rarely got to use their real monikers in the company when McMahon was in charge.

"I was Alexis Laree in OVW. I just love the name Alexis, and Laree is my legit middle name, so that's how that name came about. But I'm about to debut this crazy stalker character, and Vince is like, 'What's her name? Alexis Laree? I don't like that name. It sounds like a stripper name.' And I'm like, 'Oh, guess it does, doesn't it?'" James said.

It will be interesting to see if the former Women's Champion returns to WWE TV anytime soon.
