The Minnesota Vikings secured the Week 7 win over the Indianapolis Colts to extend their undefeated record to 6-0, and heading toward Week 8, they're the last remaining unbeaten team in the NFL.
However, in the win over the Colts, the Vikings got an injury scare with running back Aaron Jones. He went down with an injury in the middle of the game, and with it being a knee issue, there was some real concern.
But, fortunately, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Vikings can breathe a sigh of relief. Jones' injury is not considered serious, and the Vikings RB might not miss much time with his day-to-day designation.
Vikings can breathe a sigh of relief with Aaron Jones injury
"Vikings RB Aaron Jones' knee injury that he suffered during Sunday's win over the Colts is not considered to be significant at this time, and a source described him as 'day-to-day,'" Schefter reports.
While it's too soon to tell if this report means he's going to miss any time or not, at the very least, this update does seemingly avoid the worst-case scenario of a lengthy or even season-ending knee injury.
More will be known in the coming days leading up to the team's Week 8 matchup, but for now, it appears Jones might not miss much time, if any at all, this season with this knee injury.

Jordan Mason is back for the Vikings, and facing the Detroit Lions in Week 8, the Vikings will need all hands on deck to win that one.
Jones being healthy would be huge for the Vikings, but even if he can't go, they at least will be able to rely on Mason for next week.
At the end of the day, this update from Schefter reveals that Jones didn't suffer a significant injury, but that his status going forward is a bit up in the air.
Considering the worst-case scenario was a very lengthy absence, this update is some good news. But there's a real chance Jones misses time, which fortunately might not be an extended absence if he is going to miss any time at all.
