Vikings predicted to get brutal reality check with Carson Wentz in Week 2 vs. Bears

The Minnesota Vikings beat the Green Bay Packers in Week 1 by a score of 39-22. It was a massive upset win, especially with the context that Kyler Murray threw an interception and left the game early with a concussion.

Heading into Week 2 against the Chicago Bears, Wentz is slated to be the starter as they give Murray the rest he needs. While he performed well in Week 1, and the Bears' defense might be worse than the Packers', he got a brutal prediction for his Week 2 outing.

Seth Walder of ESPN is predicting that Wentz will throw multiple interceptions in Week 2 against the Bears, a defense that just allowed 37 points to the Carolina Panthers.

"Bold prediction: Vikings QB Carson Wentz will throw multiple interceptions," Walder predicts. "I know he had some impressive moments and didn't throw any picks in Minnesota's Week 1 win. But this is still Wentz, and I assume he's still prone to a mistake or four."

During Wentz's NFL career, he's thrown 72 interceptions, many of which have come in the same game. He's prone to a blow-up outing every once in a while, and it would not be too shocking to see a poor Week 2 performance from Wentz.

Even though he threw for three touchdowns and 133 yards in Week 1 without an interception, Walder believes Week 2 will be a different story.

Wentz has a knack for turning the ball over, and while he protected the ball in Week 1, Walder believes Wentz will return to his old ways of turning the ball over and throw multiple interceptions in what would likely be a Week 2 loss.

While the Bears defense isn't as good as it was last season, and Wentz should be able to move the ball through the air against Chicago this weekend, a few interceptions would not be a surprise.

This is a brutal prediction for the Vikings, as it would be quite the crash back to reality for Wentz after his vintage Week 1 performance brought on some real optimism for him moving forward this season.
