Victor Wembanyama hears loud 'F— you, Wemby' chants from Knicks crowd after shove on Jalen Brunson

There was little doubt that the Spurs would face their most difficult road test of the season on Monday night.

Between the Knicks' 2-0 Finals lead, their decades-long title drought, the celebrities in attendance and even the president's invitation, it was expected to be loud at Madison Square Garden — and Victor Wembanyama would have to fight through that adversity to virtually keep San Antonio's chances alive.

Once Wembanyama was at the center of a controversial no-call against Jalen Brunson, however, it opened the floodgates even more for Knicks fans to come at him.

Here a look at Madison Square Garden's "F— you, Wemby" chants following Wembanyama's shove against the Knicks star.

Toward the end of the first half of Monday's Game 3, Wembanyama was off to a better start than he had in Games 1 and 2. On the road, he was into double-digit scoring and visibly more aggressive offensively.

However, after Wembanyama pushed Brunson to the side with no foul call earlier in the game, Knicks fans let loose. With seconds remaining in the first half and Karl-Anthony Towns at the free-throw line, "F— you, Wemby" chants could be heard on the broadcast.

Most of the fans' negative feelings toward Wembanyama were certainly related to a non-call earlier in the game.

With Brunson posting up against the Spurs center, Wembanyama shoved him from behind, with Brunson needing to catch himself on the way to the ground. On the ESPN broadcast, Richard Jefferson said it should have been a flagrant foul, but there was no foul called.
