Vera Wang went blond for BAFTA night.

The legendary fashion designer, 76, turned heads with a new platinum ‘do on the BAFTA Awards 2026 red carpet on Sunday at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

She arrived in a white ruched floor-length jersey gown and black bolero jacket with dramatic leg-of-mutton sleeves — the exaggerated cut perhaps a nod to the 19th century styles that have had a moment on the red carpet lately with the “Wuthering Heights” press tour.

Wang’s hair transformation was all the more dramatic given her appearance at Saturday’s BAFTA Film Awards Nominees’ Party with her usual caramel-highlighted brunette hair.

At that event, she wore a black bandeau top and matching maxi skirt with a voluminous fur muff, leather opera gloves and a black brimmed statement hat by New York City milliner Esenshel.

“A MAD-HATTER MOMENT ……..! from MILAN to London 🖤🖤 🇮🇹🇬🇧,” Wang wrote on Instagram of her red carpet accessory. In the days before heading to London, she was in Milan for the Winter Olympics, where the former competitive figure skater took in the women’s singles final with her daughter Josephine.

This isn’t the first time the designer has pulled a platinum switcheroo during BAFTA weekend. At the 2025 BAFTA nominees reception at the National Gallery last February, she debuted a pin-straight platinum blond wig paired with a black Vera Wang Haute cutout tunic and floor-length skirt and diamond jewelry from her Jared Atelier x Vera Wang collection.

“Do blondes really have more fun?” she teased on Instagram at the time. “If they are attending the BAFTA nominees RECEPTION…… at ….. The NATIONAL GALLERY… one the most beautiful buildings in LONDON!”

She then showed up to the 2025 ceremony the following day with a blunt brunette bob and an ab-baring black-and-white peplum gown — essentially the reserve of the one-two-punch she pulled this year.

The bridal gown powerhouse — whose client list includes the likes of Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande and Victoria Beckham — shrugged off comments about her youthful appearance in a conversation with Page Six Style last May.

“I’m not ageless at all,” the mother of two explained at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Hot Pink Party, adding that she has no plans to retire anytime soon. “I think I spend most of my life working and when I’m not working, I’m trying to raise my daughters, so both those things kept me kind of busy, actually.”

Wang celebrated her 76th birthday in June with a dinner at Michelin restaurant Le Relais Plaza in Paris, wearing a floor-grazing black dress with a sheer peekaboo panel and “76” bedazzled in gold rhinestones on her arm.

She has previously told Page Six that she credits her youthful appearance to junk food and vodka, sharing in 2023: “I do eat McDonald’s, absolutely. I order it every day, like two weeks on it, and then I’ll change.”
