Valve announces new Steam Frame VR headset, Steam Machine, and controller ahead of 2026 launch

Valve has just announced three new pieces of gaming hardware, adding to the ever-expanding roster of products from the gaming giant. They revealed the Steam Frame VR headset, the Steam Machine, and the Steam controller that will offer gamers multiple ways to dive into their favorite title.

The Steam Machine is a powerful device that boasts a semi-custom AMD Zen 4 6C/12T up to 4.8 GHz of clock speed, making it a pretty powerful box. The processor will be paired with a semi-Custom AMD RDNA3 28CUs. The powerful setup makes it 6x more powerful than the Steam Deck, Valve's popular handheld device.

Meanwhile, the Steam Frame VR headset is a standalone immersive gaming system with VR and non-VR capacity. It can run independently without a PC, allowing gamers access to their catalogue of Steam titles. This makes it a major leap in VR accessibility by offering an essentially independent virtual reality gaming solution.

Apart from these two, Valve has also announced the Steam controller, a unique take on the classic controllers that lets users interact with their PC while being away from it. In addition to serving as an input device, it also works as a gaming controller, armed with gyro controls and thumbsticks.

The gaming giant has confirmed that the Steam Frame VR headset, the Steam Machine, and the Steam controller will hit the shelves in early 2026. With just a few months left before these devices become a new way to play, gamers are excited.
