The maniac accused of knifing a Jewish and Asian man in separate attacks on the Upper West Side on Thursday has been charged with hate crimes, law-enforcement sources said.
Raul Morales, 51, now faces raps of attempted murder as a hate crime and assault as a hate crime for his attack on the Jewish victim, who was wearing a yarmulke when he was stabbed in the chest with a screwdriver in broad daylight, sources said.

The suspect also was charged with assault in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the attack, sources said.
Before attacking the Jewish man, Morales knifed an Asian passer-by in the back, police said.
He was charged in that crime with attempted murder, assault in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon, sources said.
Both of his victims are still hospitalized.
