The USWNT is back. The most decorated country in the sport returns on October 23 against Portugal in Chester, Pennsylvania.
The friendly is about more than just soccer, though, as the team will honor legend Alex Morgan ahead of the match. The 2012 Olympic gold medalist and two-time World Cup victor will officially end her career at the place where it all started. Morgan scored the first of her 123 goals right at Subaru Park.
As the USWNT continues to evolve following its 2024 Olympic run, Portugal, ranked No. 22 in the world, is the perfect opponent, according to head coach Emma Hayes.
"Portugal is a growing team that will be highly motivated for these matches, but as always, these three games are more opportunities to work on us," she said. "I’m very impressed with the progress we’ve made since the Olympics and I want to give a lot of credit to the players for embracing our culture and ideas, but our staff and the players know we still have much work to do before World Cup qualifying next year."

USWNT 2025 schedule
The USWNT has three friendlies on the October 2025 schedule. They will face Portugal twice, celebrating the careers of Alex Morgan and Alyssa Naeher ahead of the matches. They will then head to Kansas City to play at the first dedicated women's sports stadium.
