Once again, a college football Saturday is being affected by rain delays.

In Coral Gables, Florida, Lubbock, Texas and West Lafayette, Indiana, games are being pushed back due to lightning in the area. This comes after there were multiple delays, including in Troy-Clemson and Austin Peay-Georgia in Week 2.

We have detected lightning in the vicinity of @HardRockStadium and have gone into a weather delay.

College football weather updates 

5:45 p.m.: Three games — USF vs Miami, Oregon State vs Texas Tech and USC vs Purdue — are currently in delays.

Three of the four games on over-the-air TV are in weather delays, in three completely different parts of the country. (The fourth is at halftime.)

5:28 p.m.: Hard Rock Stadium notified fans that lightning has been detected within eight miles of the stadium. Miami football urged fans to shelter, and Hard Rock Stadium even offered a re-entry if fans leave the stadium.

The game got delayed with 13:45 remaining in the second, and it's yet to be known when the top-20 matchup will resume at Hard Rock Stadium.
