Before the injury, Watkins delivered one of the most dominant campaigns in college basketball. She averaged 23.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.8 blocks per game during the 2024–25 season. Her impact helped elevate USC to a deep run and solidified her as one of the most complete players in the game.
This is her second consecutive ESPY, after taking home the Breakthrough Athlete of the Year award as a freshman. With each season, Watkins continues to build on a legacy that already puts her in rare territory among college athletes.
