UPDATE: John Cena's final WWE match [REPORT]

The latest report has shed light on WWE legend John Cena's final outing inside the Stamford-based promotion's ring. The 17-time World Champion is set to wrestle in his last match at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13, 2025.

John Cena is at the tail end of his wrestling career. The Cenation Leader has already made history this year by winning his 17th World Championship. Many want The GOAT to win the only title he hasn't won in his career: the Intercontinental Championship. If Cena wins the IC title, he will become a Grand Slam Champion in WWE.

There have been several rumors of Cena possibly facing Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship in one of the four dates left on his retirement tour. Some reports have even suggested that Dirty Dom could be The Chain Gang Soldier's last opponent at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13, 2025.

According to the latest report by Fightful, there have been internal discussions within the Stamford-based promotion regarding John Cena competing for the Intercontinental Championship. However, the report did not highlight if the bout will happen at Saturday Night's Main Event in December.

Dominik Mysterio might not face John Cena for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Since winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship, Dominik Mysterio has faced multiple top names in the company, including AJ Styles. However, he has managed to defeat everyone to retain the title.

On tonight's Saturday Night's Main Event, Dom is set to face Penta and Rusev in a Triple Threat Match for the IC title. This will be one of the hardest bouts for Mysterio. If he loses tonight, he might not face John Cena before the latter's retirement.

With that being said, Dirty Dom is currently on a roll in the Stamford-based promotion and is the favorite to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Penta and Rusev.

It will be interesting to see if the Triple H-led creative team has planned anything for John Cena vs. Dominik Mysterio.
