UPDATE: Injured WWE champion returns earlier than expected; Title relinquished 2 weeks ago

A top WWE star recently suffered an injury. However, she is expected to return earlier than expected.

Sol Ruca has been a rising star in NXT's women's division for the past couple of years. She has proven herself to be one of the most athletic women on the roster. Earlier this year, Sol Ruca went on to win the Women's Speed Championship and then won the Women's North American Title. Her run as champion was going well until she suffered an injury on the 17th October episode of SmackDown. Due to the injury, she was ruled out of action for the foreseeable future. Zaria took her spot in the Women's North American Title match against Blake Monroe at Halloween Havoc 2025 and lost. Two weeks ago, Sol Ruca opted to relinquish the Speed Title since her return date was not known.

Tonight on WWE NXT, Ava informed Sol Ruca that she is medically cleared as tolerated. Sol informed the NXT GM that she wants her title match against Blake Monroe next week. This means the Sol is returning to action a lot earlier than expected.

WWE Women's Speed Title will also be on the line next week

After Sol Ruca relinquished the Women's Speed Title two weeks ago. Following this, Ava announced a four-person tournament to determine who will compete for the vacant title next week.

Zaria won her first-round match against Wren Sinclair last week. Tonight on the black and silver brand, Fallon Henley defeated Skylar Raye. Therefore, next week at NXT Gold Rush, Zaria and Fallon Henley will compete for the Women's Speed Championship.

If everything goes according to plan, then Zaria and Sol Ruca could walk out of NXT Gold Rush as champions. It will be interesting to see if Zaria will finally be able to win her first title in WWE.
