UPDATE: Cat lover saves 2 cats from a 110-degree heatwave, accidentally turning her air-conditioned home into a kitty sanctuary

Remember, although cats put on a powerful front, they're actually the most fragile critters in the world. The next time your kitten at home is attacking your ankles and meowing for a 3rd round of tin-canned food dinner, remember that they are not actually as pushy and strong as they seem, but deep down, all cats are feeble snuggle machines. They just want to sleep all day, drink warm milk, and let the humans dote on them. No cat wants to gamble with the outdoors and go on daring adventures. Mighty as they look, and despite their predatory predecessors, cats are just cuddle bugs waiting for their next round of kibbles and gravy, a belly rub, and the warmest nap spot on the couch.

Alas, there is a threshold for “too hot” when it comes to cat nap spots, and I'd say that a heatwave falls under that category.
