Just about anything works as an outfit once you strip away the labels of intimate apparel, sleepwear or swimsuits. Recently, I’ve started treating my undergarments as the main event.
Before you roll your eyes and dismiss this as a trend for “kids these days,” hear me out. I’m no teenager, and my best friend, in her 50s, freely wears these looks in public.
Together, we receive far more compliments on our undergarment ensembles than we ever did in standard day dresses and boring slacks. So wear the look with confidence because a head held high is key.
If you think about it, the line between a standard bodysuit and a chic swimsuit is practically nonexistent. (I especially love featuring this stylish, crinkle-stretch Etam swimsuit that often gets confused with expensive Hunza G swimwear.)
Below are three of my favorite pieces to style as the star of the show.
Soma Lace Tie Front Top

This makes an excellent little going-out top. I’ve worn mine over the Etam swimsuit for fuller coverage, but be as daring as you’d like. Pairs well with jeans but hurry, selling out fast!
Etam One-Piece Stretch Swimsuit with Metal Jewelry

This is a very well-priced swimsuit from the French label Etam, designed to fit every body shape. Shown here as clothing, it also doubles as a swimsuit. Warning: You will get a lot of compliments.
Daphne The Overnight Shirt

I’ve searched high and low for an oversized shirt but this “pajama” top is the only one worth wearing in public. Pair it with the cutest little white shorts from Goosebury and you’re in business.
