UNC WR claims Mack Brown’s wife was around the team more than Jordon Hudson has been since Bill Belichick took over

The relationship between Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson became a media firestorm earlier this year, sparked by what’s now known as the infamous CBS interview.

Since then, things have drastically cooled off, with the North Carolina head coach seemingly in damage control mode over the last few months.

Still, questions lingered about how involved Hudson might be with Tar Heels football. She had already been spotted on the field during team workouts earlier this year. Would she have the same kind of influence she appeared to during the CBS sit-down?

Speculation swirled for weeks, including a claim from Pablo Torre that the 24-year-old had been banned from UNC facilities—though that report was later walked back.

Hudson may not have been banned, but according to UNC wide receiver Jordan Shipp, she hasn’t been around enough to raise any concerns or cause a distraction.

“Social media can promote some narrative, but that was not a distraction to us at all,” Shipp said, per ESPN’s David Hale. “There was never a problem, like people saying she was running practice. We’d never really see her in the building. That was never a problem.”

In fact, Shipp noted that former head coach Mack Brown’s wife was more present around the program than Hudson has been. He said he used to eat breakfast with her “nearly every day” at the team facility.

“So he saw no difference in his current coach having his significant other around the team,” Hale wrote.

Belichick, meanwhile, has brushed off the headlines, calling the controversy surrounding Hudson all “noise.”

But the only noise the former Patriots head coach seems interested in now is the one coming from a packed Kenan Stadium. With the Tar Heels having sold out their season ticket allotment, that shouldn’t be a problem this fall.
