Year 3 of the UFL kicks off this weekend with four games across three days.
The spring football league has a new look, with new teams in Orlando, Louisville and Columbus replacing San Antonio, Memphis and Michigan for 2026, and the elimination of four-team conferences in favor of league-wide standings.
Among the highlights in Week 1 are the coaching debuts for some familiar names: AJ McCarron with the Birmingham Stallions, Ted Ginn Jr. with the Columbus Aviators and Chris Redman with the Louisville Kings.
The DC Defenders won the championship last year and will look to quarterback Jordan Ta’amu to lead their title defense, while the league's all-time passing leader Luis Perez returns for a third season with the rebranded Dallas Renegades.
