One of the greatest fighters ever is officially stepping out of the ring.
UFC legend Jon Jones is retiring, Dana White announced on Saturday.
The 37-year old Jones battled issues away from the octagon, but as a fighter, he may have been unmatched.
He finished his career with a 28-1 record.
Jones is a native of Rochester, New York.
He became the youngest champion in UFC history when he took the light heavyweight crown at the age of 23.
Jones was never stopped or outscored during his career. His only loss came on a disqualification against Matt Hamill. And Hamill himself disputed that decision.
Away from fighting, Jones dealt with a felony hit-and-run charge, then tested positive for banned substances.
Jones eventually got back in the game and made more history in 2023, when he claimed the UFC Heavyweight Championship. He was just the eighth UFC fighter to be a two-division champion.
The Jones family produced athletes. His two brothers, Arthur and Chandler, both made it to the NFL.
Jones' last fight was in November 2024, when he beat Stipe Miocic by KO/TKO.
