The UFC's make-shift stadium on the White House Lawn held up plenty well.

WASHINGTON — The South Lawn of the White House turned into the Flavian Amphitheater on Sunday night — and it couldn’t have gone any better for the UFC.
To call the Gladiator-lite event on Sunday in our nation’s capital anything other than a home run for the promotion would be disingenuous, and frankly, even that might be underselling it.
Marred by nasty weather forecasts going into Sunday, the skies cleared with a cool breeze flowing to the Octagon, almost as if it was a natural air conditioning without a cloud in the sky.
There is so much that could have gone wrong, even should have, but call it luck or divine intervention, it all went according to plan.
