Miranda Maverick will move on from her loss at UFC Atlanta in the co-main event this past Saturday night. But the lingering side effects from the match will stick with her for the next several months.
On social media, Maverick informed fight fans that she suffered a torn ACL during the second round of the bout with Rose Namajunas, which went the distance live on ESPN. Namajunas earned the decision win over Maverick.
"Not the result I wanted but I fought with what I had," she wrote. "My ACL was torn in th second round. I never got dropped, but I was unstable on my legs so as soon as I got hit in the third round my leg buckled.
"I'm blessed I was able to make it to the end of the fight and I'm honored that I got to share the cage with the legend (Rose Namajunas)."
Maverick noted that she wasn't sure when the injury exactly happened, but "I think it was during a takedown exchange."
"I'll take this lay off in stride and you will see me again," she said. "But for now time to recover and figure some things out."
The 27-year-old from Missouri saw her four-fight win streak snapped. Maverick was coming off a December decision over Jamey-Lyon Horth and had not lost since 2023.
