Tyrese Maxey is glad Jaylen Brown has embraced Philadelphia so quickly

After a decade with the Boston Celtics, Jaylen Brown has now been announced as the newest Philadelphia 76ers player. It seems he is quite committed to his new team because he has been doing the rounds in Philly, which has quickly made him a fan favorite.

Of course, LeBron James is probably the biggest name in Philadelphia right now, but Brown is not too far behind. They are the new stars on the block, but that does not leave out incumbent stars like Tyrese Maxey, who is glad to see his new teammates having fun.

As one of the longest-tenured players on the 76ers alongside Joel Embiid, Maxey is having fun knowing that his new teammates are embracing the city he has grown to love. Considering they have high expectations for the 2026-27 season, this is a good start for the 76ers.

Philly has been hungry for a championship since the 1983 Finals. That was the most recent time they won a title, which is quite a long drought for such a storied franchise. They did reach the NBA Finals in 2001, but Allen Iverson and his team only got a single win.

Maxey has been quite involved with the Philadelphia community for a long time, and he was glad to see Brown join him in some of his events. That is a testament to how good of a teammate Brown is, and why he has such a good reputation in Boston.

"I just told him to show up tonight at the golf tournament. I said to him, 'Look, anything that you want to do, just let me know.' I've been here for the last seven years; whatever you want to do, I probably have a connection that can get it done... He's done the whole city tour, I feel like," Maxey said about Brown embracing the city of Philadelphia already.

Now that Brown has proven that he is committed to Philadelphia, it seems everyone else is doing their best. It will be challenging for other players to do this, but Brown has done so quite seamlessly. He might have played for a rival team, but he is now focused on his new team and their goals.
