Tyrese Haliburton’s injury mirrors Kevin Durant’s NBA Finals disaster

5 hours ago 1

Kevin Durant had one final moment to overlap with Game 7 Sunday.

He had done just what Tyrese Haliburton appeared to do.

In 2019, with the Warriors playing in the NBA Finals against the Raptors, Durant was dealing with a calf strain. He battled to get back on the floor.

And then, in one heartbreaking moment, Durant landed incorrectly and tore his Achilles.

There’s no confirmation yet that Haliburton has that same horrific injury, but that was the initial social media speculation.

The rest lines up.

The end of a long season. The NBA Finals. A return from a calf problem.

And when Haliburton went down, the finish to the NBA season was changed, just like with Durant.

That year, the Raptors won the title.

This time around, it’s Durant’s former Thunder team that will try and take advantage of the Haliburton injury.

Durant, of course, stole headlines earlier Sunday with his trade to the Rockets.

And now, the NBA injury flashback goes straight to KD.

If it is indeed the worst for Haliburton, it will be the type of moment that lingers long after these Finals are over.
