Tyler Soderstrom's wife pens emotional message after Athletics star signs record contract

Tyler Soderstrom's 2025 came to a fruitful end after the Athletics first baseman agreed to a seven-year, $86 million extension on Christmas Day. It was a record deal as it's the largest guaranteed contract in Athletics history. He has an option for an eighth year which would increase its value.

While the team's fans on social media celebrated Soderstrom's extension, his wife, Bailey Soderstrom, penned an emotional message on Instagram.

"The organization that has watched us grow from 17 and 18-year-olds to husband and wife," Bailey wrote on Monday. "The organization that has blessed us with friends who became family. The organization that has let my best friend live out his dream. This organization will always feel like home. We are so excited and thankful to be a part of the ride.

"I couldn’t be more happy, proud, or filled with joy for Tyler. Truly the most deserving person. Can’t wait for many more games in green and gold. Go A’s! 💚"

Soderstrom was one of the standout performers of the Athletics last season. He recorded 561 at-bats with an average of .276, 75 runs, 25 home runs and 93 RBIs.

Tyler Soderstrom and his wife, Bailey Soderstrom, began dating as high-schoolers and tied the knot on Nov. 28. The couple got married in Maui.

She posted a picture on Instagram, sharing a passionate kiss with Soderstrom. Bailey called her wedding day the "best day" of her life and included an adorable message.

"THE SODES 🤍 the best day of my life. I married my best friend, my favorite teammate, and the love of my life. I couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect day. it’s the greatest privilege to be your wife, Ty - I love you most, always and forever," Bailey wrote.

She also made another post on Dec. 9. It contained a video from their wedding, with the couple enjoying themselves in the company of their loved ones.
