The NBA offseason has been a wild ride for the Denver Nuggets, but they could make one more move to cap their big summer.
Over the past few weeks, the Nuggets have been working hard to ensure they can compete for a championship in the tough Western Conference. After losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round, the Nuggets have added some key depth and made one of the biggest trades of the summer, sending Michael Porter Jr. and a future first-round pick to Brooklyn for Cam Johnson.
With the starting lineup set and some key depth added on the wing and at center, the Nuggets are in a great position to bounce back in 2026. Still, the Nuggets could use a little more help to give them some more lineup diversity next season.
Athlon Sports’ Nathaniel Holloway recently suggested that Denver should add Chris Boucher. The former two-time champion with the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors is one of the most interesting remaining free agents and could give the Nuggets some of the versatility they’ve been lacking.
At 6-foot-9 with the ability to protect the paint and hit threes, Boucher can be a significant help for the right team. In Denver, Boucher could both play alongside Nikola Jokic and play some small-ball five if the Nuggets want a different look than they could get with Jonas Valanciunas.
Boucher could also deliver the type of production Denver has been hoping for from former first-round pick Zeke Nnaji. With so many different roles Boucher could fill in Denver, it could be a match made in heaven if the Nuggets are interested.
