The Denver Broncos have a chance to field one of the best defenses in the NFL in 2025, but two of the best defensive players in franchise history remain free agents.
Von Miller and Justin Simmons are still looking for a place to call home in 2025. With training camps quickly approaching, the two veterans will need to find something soon if they want to continue their playing careers. Both players are likely garnering some interest, but they will be looking for the right deal, not just any deal.
The right deal will have to include what they are looking for financially, while also coming from a team that is a contender to win the Super Bowl. For players like Miller and Simmons, those are the things that are going to motivate them.
Simmons, who played with the Atlanta Falcons last year after spending eight seasons in Denver, recently discussed his time in the Mile High City, which he had nothing but positive things to say about.
He started in 16 games for the Falcons last year and had 62 tackles and two interceptions.
Miller, arguably the best defensive player in Broncos history, was released by the Buffalo Bills this offseason, his third NFL team. He turned 36 years old this offseason and is likely nothing more than a situational pass-rusher at this stage of his career, but he could be an effective one.
Brian Baldinger of NFL Network reports that there is interest in signing Miller from more than one team.

— DNVR Broncos (@DNVR_Broncos) June 30, 2025Despite playing on just 25 percent of the Bills' defensive snaps last year, Miller still recorded six sacks, proving he can still be a great option in that department.
Miller and Simmons should be on NFL rosters before the season starts and while that almost certainly won't be in Denver, Broncos Country will cheer them on anyhow as they remain two of the most beloved players in team history.
