Two men apparently die in NYC waters in separate incidents, cops said

Two men leapt into the waters of NYC, and at least one was killed, in separate incidents Saturday.

The first man plummeted from the Williamsburg Bridge into the East River around 8:30 a.m., a police spokesman said.

Emergency workers pulled the man out of the water but he couldn’t be saved, police said. Obtained by NY Post

The man, whose name and age were unknown, was pulled from the water by the FDNY and brought to New York Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition but could not be saved, authorities said.

Witnesses saw a second man, whose name and age were also unknown, fully clothed and wearing a backpack jumping into the river from a Randall’s Island ferry landing at around 12:20 p.m., cops said. 

NYPD aviation and scuba units scoured the water searching for the man, but he was not immediately recovered, authorities said.
