"Two massive egos in same shot": CFB fans debate over Diego Pavia's bold comments as Vandy faces Texas

Diego Pavia's No. 9 Vanderbilt (7-1) will be in action against No. 20 Texas (6-2) in Week 10 on Saturday. Ahead of the game, the Commodores quarterback made some bold remarks about his team and Texas while being interviewed by ESPN's Marty Smith.

"This is the Louis Vuitton vs. some underground yard sale.” Pavia said.

When fans on social media caught wind of Pavia's comments, they had some interesting reactions.

"Two massive egos in the same shot," one tweeted. "Pavia keeps writing checks with his mouth that his a*s can’t cash," another added. "He’d going to make for a really interesting drunk at the end of the bar," a third commented.

Entering the matchup against Texas, Diego Pavia has recorded 1,698 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, two interceptions and five rushing TDs this season.

Some believe that Pavia is also in the running for the Heisman Trophy due to his excellent performances so far.

While Diego Pavia will lead Vanderbilt's offense, Texas quarterback Arch Manning has cleared the concussion protocols and will start for the Longhorns.

At the time of writing, Texas hold a 7-0 lead wth just over 11 and a half minutes remaining in the first quarter.
