It was announced Monday night that the Minnesota Twins made a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks for a relief pitcher.
According to an announcement from the Twins, the AL Central organization acquired right-hander Taylor Rashi from the D-Backs in exchange for cash.
Rashi was DFA'd by Arizona a few days ago, and Anthony Franco of MLB Trade Rumors reports it was to clear roster space for infield prospect LuJames Groover.
Rashi, 30, stands 6-foot-4 on the mound. He is a former 23rd-round draft pick of the San Francisco Giants in 2019 out of the University of California.
He made 10 appearances for the D-Backs in 2025, allowing eight earned runs on 16 hits with 22 strikeouts in 16.1 innings.

In 2026, Rashi has made three outings in relief, permitting four earned runs on three hits with four strikeouts in 3.2 innings.
After the trade was completed, the Twins sent Rashi to Triple-A St. Paul to serve as bullpen depth.
Chances are, he will see more time in the Majors this season, probably in long relief.
