Byron Buxton isn't going anywhere.
In the lead up to the MLB All-Star Game, Buxton was asked about rumors that he could be involved in a trade from the Minnesota Twins.
Buxton answered with a smile.
"I can't be traded," Buxton said. "I've got a no-trade clause. I'm a Minnesota Twin for the rest of my life. So that's the best feeling in the world knowing that I get to walk into a clubhouse and it's gonna say Twins for the rest of my life."
Buxton was then asked to clarify, just to be sure.
"I'm a Twin. That's home," Buxton said.
Twins fans have to love hearing that.
MORE: It's the year of Cal Raleigh
Buxton is in the midst of potentially his best season in his MLB career, knock on wood for good health.
He's batting .289 with 14 doubles, four triples, 21 homers and 56 RBI at the break.
Buxton has also stolen every one of the 17 bases he has attempted to swipe.
And yeah, he's still a star defender in centerfield.
This is Buxton's second All-Star nod. With the rule reversal back to players wearing their own uniforms on the All-Star diamond, Buxton will get to rep the Twins during Tuesday night's showcase. It's the only uniform he plans on wearing the rest of his baseball career.
