A 28-year-old TV star has revealed he is entering the “last stages” of his life after battling skin cancer for the past four years.

Finnian Garbutt, who starred in the BBC police drama “Hope Street,” told his Instagram fans he was told his cancer has “progressed rapidly” after struggling with pain in his back and hip.

“I’m putting this out there as it is really difficult to tell people individually and I hope now it’s in the open then I can enjoy the time with my amazing family and friends,” Garbutt added.

“Since being diagnosed 4 years ago I have achieved so many of my life goals – 30 episodes in a TV show, being the lead in a movie (that should be out soon), buying my own house, marrying my best friend and becoming a father to the most incredible baby girl who never fails to make me smile.”

Garbutt thanked fans for supporting him and his family.

In a follow-up post, he shared a link to a GoFundMe created for his soon-to-be widow, Louise, and their 1-year-old daughter, Saoirse.

“All I want is my wife and little baby to have the life they deserve and I wanted to be the one that provided that, which now is unfortunately no longer possible,” he wrote on Instagram.

Garbutt was told his cancer was terminal just two weeks before Saoirse was born. He said his illness had spread to his liver and lungs.

The TV star previously documented how his illness had led to hospitalizations for hepatitis.

In February 2022, the actor had 12 hours of surgery to have 75 lymph nodes removed from his face and neck.
