Troy Aikman delivers harsh criticism of Dak Prescott and Cowboys' struggling offense with gauntlet of games coming up

On Thursday on "NFL Live", ex-quarterback turned analyst Troy Aikman highlighted how Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense have been struggling over the past few games.

He said that the team must find a way to polish their weaknesses for the tough games that they have coming up in the next few weeks.

"I think it's indicative of how much they just rely on the offense," Aikman said. "When you look at the last couple of games, if they don't play their best, they're gonna have a hard time winning. And it's why they've lost the last two. "I think you can make the case that they should run the ball more than what they do. I think what they've gotten out of (RB) Javonte Williams has been really impressive. Of course they got two big weapons (Lamb and Pickens) on the outside and you want to take advantage of that. But they've got to play better. They got a gauntlet of games once they get past this game. ... that's when the tough part of their schedule gets down."

The Cowboys are ranked as the fourth-best team this season in terms of total offense, averaging 378.4 offensive yards and 30 offensive touchdowns. However, they have a 3-5-1 record after losing in the past two games against the Broncos and the Cardinals.

This season, Dak Prescott has recorded 2,319 yards and 17 TDs passing, along with one rushing touchdown to his name. He has also thrown six interceptions and has been sacked a total of 15 times on the field.

Dak Prescott opens up about first practice after Marshawn Kneeland's death

The Cowboys were dealt a tough blow after defensive end Marshawn Kneeland passed away on November 6.

On Thursday, Dak Prescott shared his honest thoughts about training after the tragic incident.

"It was great," Prescott said. (Brian Schottenheimer) said it earlier this week, some guys are going to get on the field and it's going to hurt. And some guys are going to get out there and it's going to be the best medicine for them. "Having dealt with a loss, that is the best medicine for me. Getting back out there, handing the ball off and sprinting an extra 10 yards, and making sure I'm doing it hard. Marshawn went through my mind a few times. I just counted that with running harder for a play or trying to do something to better this team and to show that.
