Tristan Thompson gives Klay Thompson advice on Megan Thee Stallion split

Tristan Thompson is weighing in on the Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion split.

The Cleveland Cavaliers alum was a guest on Shannon Sharpe's podcast, Club Shay Shay, where the NFL Hall of Famer asked if he had any advice for Tristan following the breakup. 

“Don’t say anything,” Tristan advised Klay. 

“The worst thing you can do is feed into the beast. If you speak up, you give it more legs, you allow them to take another day to talk about it," he continued.

Megan accused Klay of cheating her back in April. Since then, Klay has stayed mum about the situation and has not reacted to the allegations. 

"If she wants to say something, let her do whatever she wants to do,” Tristan said. “As a man, keep your mouth quiet. Because I've never gone out there and defended myself because it's just not what we do.”

Tristan went on to share that people who live public lives should choose to keep some information about their life to themselves. 

"Our life is so public, something should be left private if you can,” Tristan continued. “When you're in the dating phase, and it's very early, cherish and protect that. Because if you allow people to have access to that, now you give your whole life away. At least if you love this girl or you're into her, try to cherish it for as long as you can and keep it private."

Tristan has been in several public relationships during his NBA career, most notably dating Khloé Kardashian for several years. The couple share daughter True and son Tatum together. 

Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson's breakup 

Megan and Klay dated for about nine months before their split. The three-time Grammy-winning rapper shared that the four-time NBA champion had allegedly cheated on her on her Instagram Story at the time. 

“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet’ Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’???? bitch I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall,” Megan wrote on her Instagram Story at the time.

She then later confirmed that the two have ended their romantic relationship. 

“I've made the decision to end my relationship with Klay," Megan said in a statement per People. "Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there's no real path forward. I'm taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
