Trey Hendrickson rumor reveals why he chose Ravens over Bills, Eagles, Commanders and others

Trey Hendrickson has finally left the free agency market, as the star edge rusher signed a four-year deal worth $112 million with the Baltimore Ravens.

Hendrickson had a plethora of suitors vying for his services, but in the end, he picked the Ravens, and we now know why.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders, and Philadelphia Eagles were all in on Hendrickson.

However, Hendrickson wanted to sign a long-term contract with a contender, and though Buffalo made sense as a landing spot and was close to signing him, the four-time Pro Bowler went with the Ravens instead.

"The Colts, Bills, Bucs, Commanders and Eagles all were involved in Trey Hendrickson's free agency before the All-Pro agreed to terms with the Ravens, per sources," Fowler said.

"The Colts felt like they were close at one point. The Eagles got involved late. Tampa pursued but on a short-term deal. Hendrickson wanted a long-term deal with a contender. Buffalo fit that mold. But Baltimore put it over the top Tuesday night."

Baltimore emerged as a possible destination for Hendrickson on Tuesday night after the franchise backed out of the Maxx Crosby trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Hendrickson is coming off an injury-riddled 2025 campaign, but when healthy, he's one of the most dominant and productive pass rushers in football who should make an immediate impact on the Ravens' defense.

Missing out on Hendrickson stings for the teams pursuing him, especially Philadelphia and Buffalo, who need pass-rush help and are legitimate contenders in their conferences.
