Trey Hendrickson has been in a contract dispute with the Cincinnati Bengals the entire offseason, but he finally broke his silence after not speaking on the situation for a few months.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Hendrickson posted some highlights of his dominant 2024 campaign with a bible quote as the caption.
"1 Corinthians 16:13," Hendrickson wrote on Instagram.
The bible quote Hendrickson posted encourages believers to be watchful, courageous, strong, and stay firm in their faith.
Hendrickson has earned himself a lucrative payday, as the 30-year-old has posted 17.5 sacks in two straight seasons and is one of the most prolific defenders in football.
However, the Bengals aren't willing to meet Hendrickson's demand, which is likely a multi-year deal worth over $30 million annually. As a result, the four-time Pro Bowler skipped mandatory minicamp in June and is prepared to hold out of training camp if he doesn't receive an extension by report day.
We'll see if Hendrickson and Cincinnati can figure out an extension sooner rather than later, as the team's defense is already weak, so losing their star player due to a contract dispute wouldn't be ideal.
