Maura Higgins is keeping fans guessing about her flirtatious connection with fellow “Traitors” castmate Rob Rausch — as viewers, social media users and her own co-stars are practically begging the pair to make things official.
The “Love Island UK” alum, who joined the current season of Peacock’s hit reality competition, has undeniable chemistry with Rausch, a breakout star from “Love Island USA” who is competing as a Traitor inside the Scottish castle.
Their playful banter and mutual admiration haven’t gone unnoticed — especially by Higgins’ castmates.
Still, Higgins insists that romance talk hasn’t exactly been on the agenda between the two.
“We don’t chat about that,” she tells Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea,” while discussing the prospect of dating Rausch during a joint interview with co-stars Dorinda Medley, Monet X Change, Mark Ballas and Kristen Kish.
That hasn’t stopped everyone around them from shipping the duo hard. According to Higgins, the commentary was nonstop during filming.
“This is all me and Rob had to listen to in the castle — from everyone!” she says. “They were like, ‘You guys are so hot together.’”
One of the loudest cheerleaders? None other than Medley. The former “Real Housewives of New York City” star, 62, didn’t mince words when it came to her hopes for Higgins, 35, and Rausch, 27 — taking things several steps beyond a simple showmance.

“I think they must procreate,” Medley jokes. “They would have the most gorgeous children: smart, beautiful, athletic. I mean, it’s an obligation to the world as far as I’m concerned.”
Doubling down on the sentiment with her signature flair, she adds, “If the world ends, this is what we want to put on ice for the future generations.”
Inside the castle, Higgins’ loyalty to Rausch only fueled speculation. Believing he was competing as a Faithful at the time, she was quick to defend him whenever his name came up.
“If anyone brought up Rob’s name to me, what was I like? I would snap at them,” Higgins recalls. “Like, do not bring up Rob’s name to me. I had his back.”
Fans have also been buzzing about what the connection could look like outside the game — especially given both stars’ “Love Island” roots. Higgins doesn’t hesitate when asked which co-star she’d most likely invite into the franchise’s iconic Hideaway.

“I mean, probably me and Rob — only because we’re both from ‘Love Island’!” she says with a laugh.
As for whether their castle chemistry could turn into something more once the cloaks come off? Higgins is still playing it cool.
“We’ll see, we’ll see. We don’t know,” she teases. “The show’s not over yet … To be continued.”
Whether it’s romance, strategy or just top-tier flirting, one thing’s clear: viewers — and at least one very passionate “Housewife” — are fully invested in the Maura-and-Rob saga.
“The Traitors” is available to stream on Peacock.
