Trace Cyrus Says He and His Sisters Are "Genuinely Worried" About Dad Billy Ray Cyrus
It's a callout in the USA.
The fractures within the Cyrus family have continued to grow more public as one day after Trace Cyrus expressed concern for his father Billy Ray Cyrus on social media, the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer’s younger son Braison Cyrus confirmed he and his dad are collaborating on new music. And amid the news, Trace didn’t hold back about sharing his perspective on the matter.
"I’ve spent the last year getting to know my dad better than I ever have," Braison, 30, said on his Instagram Story Jan. 24 of the news that he's executive producing his Billy Ray's upcoming album. "After he spent a week in the hospital in the fall, I’m grateful that my dad is happy, healthy and ready to make this record."
"It’s a rare opportunity to make something this special and tell my dad’s story through music," he added. "Can’t wait to finally share it."
A few hours later, Trace, 35, responded to a fan question about Braison suggesting their dad—who also shares Miley Cyrus, 32, as well as siblings Brandi, 37, Braison, 30, and Noah, 24, with ex Tish Cyrus—was in a good spot. As he put it, "Birds of a feather flock together."
In subsequent Instagram Stories of himself boxing inside an apartment, Trace said that "this is what healthy looks like."
"Braison I can help you too," he continued. "Damn. Man up boys."

The Metro Station musician then reposted a photo of a bearded Braison with a sad face emoji underneath it before saying in another slide, "That's my YOUNGER brother by the way."
Trace's posts about his brother came two days after he'd written an open letter to Billy Ray—who had raised eyebrows during his performance at Donald Trump’s inauguration concert—urging him to get healthy and saying that he and his sisters are "genuinely worried" about him.
"I wanted to be just like you," he wrote on Instagram Jan. 22. "The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life. Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now."
"It seems this world has beaten you down and it’s become obvious to everyone but you," Trace continued. "You’re not healthy Dad & everyone is noticing it."

The "Shake It" hitmaker went on to share that he's a year and a half sober and posited that his father could benefit from a similar life path.
"As I write this with tears in my eyes I hope you realize this message only comes from a place of love and also fear that the world may lose you far too soon," Trace said. "I don’t know what you’re struggling with exactly but I think I have a pretty good idea & I’d love to help you if you would open up and receive the help."

He ended the post by opening the door to his father to reach back out to him for his support.
"You know how to reach me," he wrote. "Till that day comes I will continue to pray for you."
