Tottenham prepare £52m bid for former Premier League star

Tottenham Hotspur started their season off well under Thomas Frank, but the team hasn't had the most consistent performances. 

Tottenham are coming off a 1-2 loss to Aston Villa, and the team is preparing to take on Monaco in the Champions League.

Frank is likely to make changes in the January transfer window, and one of the biggest priorities seems to be a striker. 

Richarlison and Dominic Solanke have struggled with injuries since coming to Tottenham, and Frank is eager to bring in a proven goalscorer and physical player. 

The club has been linked with multiple strikers, but a former Premier League striker is firmly on Frank's radar.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham are willing to pay £52m for Ivan Toney, who previously excelled at Brentford.

The Englishman currently plays for Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, but he is reportedly open to a return to English football, especially with the World Cup coming up.

Toney moved to Saudi Arabia in 2024, and he has had a good record of 38 goals in 54 games. The striker was also a big success at Brentford, scoring 67 goals in 128 games for the club.

Toney has also attracted interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, although according to the report, Tottenham have the most interest in the striker.
