As the Giants open up training camp Wednesday, every player will want to impress the new coaching staff. Some players are established starters, others are roster locks and several need to open eyes to make the team. Here are five players to watch this summer:

Malik Nabers, WR

Now that he avoided going on the PUP list, will we see him on the field for meaningful work at any point during the 11 days in West Virginia? The answer is … probably. He is coming off ACL surgery, and his recovery has not gone as smoothly as many of these procedures are wont to go. The key is to get the explosive target out there ASAP and try to ensure that he does not experience any setbacks.

Darius Alexander, DT

There is a spot open on the interior of the defensive line, and it remains to be seen if Alexander in Year No. 2 can grab it. He had a lukewarm rookie season. The 2025 third-round pick has the size and physical tools to get the job done, but he needs to become a lockdown run-stopper.

Greg Newsome II, CB

The defense must find a capable cornerback to start opposite Paulson Adebo. Newsome, a former first-round pick of the Browns signed to a one-year deal, did not live up to expectations in Cleveland and did not make a strong case for himself last season with the Jaguars. Rookie Colton Hood is waiting in the wings.
