Top AEW star drops a major Samoa Joe bombshell

The AEW World Champion, Samoa Joe, has had a target on his back since winning the title. The veteran wrestler defeated "Hangman" Adam Page at AEW: Full Gear to win the gold.

AT AEW: Full Gear, Joe dethroned "Hangman" Adam Page after an interference from Hook. The star bashed Page with the title, allowing Joe to pin the champ and claim the victory.

During a recent episode of INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher detailed that he would like to go one-on-one against Joe. He felt it would be a huge test for him to pit his skills against an in-ring veteran. Fletcher noted that he had watched the Samoan Submission Machine battle in the ring for over a decade, and it would be cool to square off against the champ.

"The one that I keep talking about is I really want to get in there with Samoa Joe. I think that would be a really cool one for me, and a really cool test for me. It’s someone that I’ve been watching for a decade plus, so that’s someone that I would love to get in there with. Other than that, I’ve been pretty blessed, I’ve been lucky enough to get in there with a lot of the people that I looked up to growing up."

Samoa Joe paid homage to John Cena

The AEW World Heavyweight Champion has been in the news recently. He defended the championship against Eddie Kingston at AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming.

During the match, he paid homage to John Cena. Joe hit Kingston with an Attitude Adjustment and then slapped an STF on his opponent. He even did a quick salute at the camera before releasing the hold. John took notice of the moment and posted a picture of the AEW Champion on his Instagram account.

Samoa Joe is now getting ready for a major title defense against the likes of Swerve Strickland and Adam Page in the coming weeks.
