After getting a lot of praise for AEW's performance in 2025, Tony Khan is now planning a major program for the upcoming year revolving around the new AEW World Champion MJF. As per the recent reports, the AEW President is planning to have the Salt of the Earth feud with Kenny Omega in 2026 to set up a big match between the two stars.

At AEW Worlds End, Samoa Joe was originally set to defend his AEW World Championship against Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page in a Three Way match. However, MJF made his shocking return and cashed-in his Casino Gauntlet contract to insert himself into the match.

At the pay-per-view in Chicago, MJF pinned Samoa Joe to win his second AEW World Championship. As per the recent report by Cageside Seats, the Jacksonville-based company is planning to have their new World Champion feud with Kenny Omega in a major program. Omega is a former AEW and Impact Wrestling World Champion and has also held the IWGP Heavyweight title and the AAA Mega title.

A feud with a star like Kenny Omega would definitely help elevate MJF more. It will be interesting to see how Tony Khan will book this feud in the upcoming year.

MJF made a major demand to Tony Khan recently

MJF has always been known for his snarky nature and narcissist persona. Following his title victory at Worlds End pay-per-view, it was announced that the Champion will appear on the New Year's Smash edition of Dynamite taking place in Omaha, Nebraska.

The new World Champion was upset that he will have to travel this much for his next appearance. He asked Tony Khan to give him a bonus for this.

"So I win the world title by beating three of the toughest guys in AEW. Further proving I’m hands down the greatest wrestler on gods green earth. And my present on New Year’s Eve!…. I get to travel to (checks notes)……….Omaha Nebraska. @TonyKhan, I demand a bonus," he wrote.

It's hilarious to see MJF act like this with the company's President. It will be interesting to see what he has to say on the first Dynamite of 2026.
