The Kansas City Chiefs lost their playoff chances on Sunday, after losing the Week 15 game to the Los Angeles Chargers,16-13. During the closing minutes of the game, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a knee injury.
Following the game, an MRI was done on Mahomes, which confirmed the season-ending ACL tear. According to the Chiefs, the quarterback has been exploring surgical options to treat his injury.
Shortly after the dramatic game, NFL insider Jordan Schultz's tweet went viral, which highlighted an interesting link between Mahomes' injury and Tom Brady.

Patrick Mahomes dropped emotional message reacting to his ACL injury
Following the game, Patrick Mahomes took to his X account to address his injury. The Chiefs quarterback shared an emotional tweet, expressing gratitude towards his fans while hinting at his plans to come back stronger.
"Don't know why this had to happen. And not going to lie, [it] hurts. But all we can do now is [trust] in God and attack every single day over and over again," Mahomes wrote. "Thank you, Chiefs kingdom, for always supporting me and for everyone who has reached out and sent prayers. I [will] be back stronger than ever."Patrick Mahomes' injury, along with the Chiefs' having lost their chance at the playoffs, turned the locker room's atmosphere sorrowful. During an interview with ESPN, Chris Jones revealed having "hugged" Mahomes following the game.
"I just hugged him, man. That's my brother. We've been through so much. We love Pat," Jones said.Patrick Mahomes will most likely undergo surgery in the upcoming days and will miss the Chiefs' offseason training program. Additionally, there will also be uncertainty around his availability for next season.
