Can anybody imagine Tom Brady actually returning to the NFL?
Well, as crazy as that might sound, it doesn't feel like it's impossible. After seeing Philip Rivers on the field a year ago, and the quarterback play being below average around the league, at least in terms of backups, perhaps one injury could allow Brady to return to the field. Reports indicate he's interested in doing so, at least in the sense that he's considered it.
However, there are many other things that have to go into this, and his stake with the Las Vegas Raiders would be at the top of that list.
“Brady turns 50 in August, and in order to return to the NFL, he would need to divest from his stake in the Raiders, a franchise that appears to be on the rise after a 3-0 start to this season.
“In an interview with CNBC this past March, Brady—who is now in his third season as Fox’s lead NFL game analyst—revealed that he has ‘inquired' about a potential NFL comeback, but that he’s ‘very happily retired.’” Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports wrote.
It doesn't seem to make too much sense for Brady to give up his stake in the Raiders just to play another year or so, unless he's truly doing it for the love of the game.
Brady isn’t someone who needs a couple of extra million dollars to come out and play, considering he's making just as much by having a stake in a major NFL franchise and being a broadcaster, but Brady is a psychopath when it comes to loving football.
This is a guy who didn’t want to leave the field, and even him considering this at this age shows that.
