Tom Brady makes surprise appearance at Raiders' training camp

Tom Brady became a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders in October 2024, and the Hall of Fame quarterback finally made an appearance at a Raiders practice.

Brady attended the team's Friday training camp practice and was seen talking to multiple players, including veteran running back Raheem Mostert and All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion was also having a conversation with Raiders first-year general manager John Spytek, who was a part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' front office when Brady was also there.

Brady's role with the Raiders is still unknown, but it looks like the 47-year-old could be more active and around the team this season. Brady still has to fulfill his duties with FOX as a broadcaster, so he won't be around the facility full-time.

However, having the legendary signal-caller around the team and present for some weeks will only help a rebuilding Raiders squad.

After he bought a stake in the franchise last October, majority owner Mark Davis gave a glowing endorsement of Brady, and also added an intriguing nugget about how the former New England Patriot could play a role in Las Vegas' quest for a franchise quarterback.

"Tom is somebody that for many years I didn't like very much," Davis said in October 2024 after Brady joined the ownership group. "He did admit that it was a fumble [Tuck Rule game]. So those are important aspects of the situation. We're just really proud to have him as a partner. He's a competitor. He's a bright young man."

"Although Tom can't play, I think he can help us select a quarterback in the future and potentially train as well."

The Raiders didn't select a quarterback until Day 3 of April's draft with Cam Miller, and opted to add a veteran starter in Geno Smith this offseason. However, based on Davis' comments back in October, it sounds like Brady could play a major role in Las Vegas' search for a young quarterback in a future draft.

Nevertheless, it's cool to see Brady at Raiders practice on Friday, and it will be exciting to see how he will help the franchise moving forward.
