Tom Brady breaks silence on Raiders decision to pass on Shedeur Sanders in draft

Since he became minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, reports and even owner Mark Davis suggested that future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady was going to have a big say in the team's decisions moving forward.

However, that may not actually be the case, as evidenced by a comment Brady made about Shedeur Sanders, who notoriously slid to the fifth round, where the Cleveland Browns finally ended his legendary fall.

Brady was asked about Sanders' slide, and in his answer he revealed that he was not involved in the Raiders making the decision to pass on the Colorado product, although he did stammer through his answer.

“There’s . . . I — I — it’s a good question,” Brady said on the Impaulsive podcast. “I wasn’t a part of any evaluation process or to see that.”

When the host mentioned comments made by Skip Bayless, which charged Brady with being the one who decided to pass on Sanders, Brady didn't mince words.

“I know, well, everyone’s got every, you know,” Brady said. “That’s the problem with media is everyone can just say whatever the f*** they want.”

In the wake of Sanders' slide, Brady texted the polarizing quarterback to remind him that it doesn't matter where you're drafted, but rather what he does after that.

“I actually texted Shedeur because I know him very well, and I said, ‘Dude, like, whatever happens, wherever you go, like, that’s your first day," Brady revealed. "Day two matters more than the draft. I was [pick number] 199. Yeah. So, who could speak on it better than me, like, what that really means? Use it as motivation. You’re gonna get your chances. Go take advantage of it.”

Brady and Sanders have a relationship that dates back many years, which was another reason why it was surprising to see the Raiders pass on him as many times as they did.

However, if we take Brady's word for it, he had nothing to do with that.
